ůůֱ²¥'s campus remains active over the summer, hosting over 20 off-campus partners and welcoming more than 3,000 visitors. Among those visitors is Dragon Thrones, an immersive medieval fantasy summer vacation for adults.
School may be out until August, but campus is still abuzz with activity over the summer! From magic camp to math intensives, ůůֱ²¥ hosts a variety of summer programs for both on and off-campus partners. Take a look at all the activities happening at ůůֱ²¥ in the 101 days between Commencement and when our students return in August.
Two of the largest programs that keep undergraduates on campus during the summer support student-driven research by focusing on honing investigative skills and cultivating mentorships between faculty and students. Summer Science Research provides 35-plus students with 10-week research stipends to conduct independent research under the guidance of ůůֱ²¥ faculty members in the sciences and mathematics each summer. This year also marks the first year of the Humanities/Social Science Research pilot program, in which undergraduates have the opportunity to pursue independent research under the tutelage of faculty in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
A number of groups and organizations will also call ůůֱ²¥ home this summer with conferences, day camps, and overnight immersive programming, welcoming over 3,000 visitors to campus. Notables include , , and the .
An opportunity for students to live, serve, and learn with others in the community. Ten undergraduates are selected to live together on campus and work at a fully-funded internship at a service or activism organization in the ůůֱ²¥/Philadelphia region.
This full-time workshop for ůůֱ²¥, Haverford, Swarthmore, and Lafayette College students introduces students to the field of library and information science and promotes opportunities for underrepresented groups in the profession.
The newest students in the Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program were welcomed to campus before kicking off a rigorous summer of classes for those who want to pursue a career in medicine but have not taken the required premedical courses as undergraduates.
This year marks the inaugural session of the Exploring Transfer Together program, a free, coed, week-long immersive experience for community college students interested in transferring to a four-year liberal arts college. Students immerse themselves in the academic experience, network and build community, and gain skills to support their transfer success.
STEMLA is a free, interdisciplinary, college-transition and mentorship program designed for first-generation, limited-income undergraduate students entering ůůֱ²¥ College. First-years come to campus early for a four-week program meant to introduce them to both the College and ůůֱ²¥â€™s many STEM majors. Last year's cohort took a trip to a local anthracite coal mine as a part of their exploration of geology and more.
And with that, Summer 2025 is a wrap! After 101 days of summer, we will begin welcoming students back to campus on August 26th in preparation for the Fall 2025 semester.
